Luis and Sara contacted me back in August about shooting their Fall 2017 wedding, and I'm so happy they did. When Sara described her vision and ideas for the wedding, I thought they were totally unique and special, and you won't find something like it anywhere else!
When we were initially discussing the details of their engagement session, we settled on shooting in October (because ...why not? Hello, Fall!) in Gaithersburg. Sara and Luis are big fans of the book The Fault in Our Stars by John Green (and so am I) and their wedding theme is Mario Brothers, so they both picked a few fun and eccentric outfit choices to reflect Luigi and Daisy, along with Hazel and Gus from the book mentioned.
Sara and I both live in the same building (how insane is that, by the way? Such a small world!) and we met up to make our way over to Gaithersburg City Hall to start. The weather was perfect and Old Towne Gaithersburg is never too busy on a Sunday.
Sara and Luis both really enjoy the artwork in the park, so we made an effort to include a few of the statues in the background of their pictures. It turned out better than expected! My *personal* favorite is the violin-playing frog.
They also brought along their BEAUTIFUL pup, Scout. This dog stole my heart right away and was so entertaining to photograph. He's a little shy, but he warmed up quickly and I was able to get some cute poses of him interacting with the couple.
We all hopped into my car to head over to our last location at Bohrer Park in Gaithersburg. It's just barely outside of Old Towne, yet close enough for just a few minutes drive. The sun was beginning to set behind the trees, and Sara and Luis were warmed up. These are some of my favorite!
